HealthJourneys.com Is All Reorganized, Super-functional & Glam!
Some of you may have already noticed that several months back, we started a separate (but connected) blog page, under the URL belleruthnaparstek.com, to house all our archived content and separate it from the commercial pages. We were aware that while some people just wanted to get on the site, buy something, and get the heck out, others preferred to linger in the content and discover miles and miles o' research abstracts, Q & A's, programs, practitioners and inspiring stories. (The weekly e-news that subscribers get features the current week's worth of new articles. If you want to sign up and haven't yet, just click here.).

Things were getting unwieldy - we literally had years and years of weekly research postings, answers to questions, mind-body updates, and so on. We'd become a virtual reference library for mind-body practitioners, health consumers and grad students many a term paper and grant proposal found its righteous ammunition in those archives. But we had so much content, it was getting harder and harder for people to find the specific info they were looking for.
So we reorganized. Now you can find research, archived by method or by health topic. And the new search engine will also pull together everything we've got about a disease or wellness area you're curious about - people, I love this feature!! You can now enter "stress" or "diabetes" or "headaches" or "surgery" into the search box, and, presto change-o!! - you get all the Q & A's. research, stories, programs, updates, practitioners on that topic in a google-like trice. And you can even ask for the search to be ordered by most recent, most popular, etc etc. Dear Reader, I swoon over this function. It's enough to make an obsessive heart sing.
So that was the first part. We also updated the look of those new pages - which was a little weird, because now the new blog site didn't match the old commercial site. Now that's all finished, and HealthJourneys.com is now as gorgeous as the blog side, and ready for you enjoyment.
Please look around. Tell us what you like, and what you don't. We'll keep tweaking and fixing. By now you've probably noticed that we actually pay attention to what you say.
And I have a shout-out for this masterpiece. Dave Buchmueller of emediacy.net is a double threat. He does graphics. He does everything behind the graphics, like all the architecture and techie organization of info. He's also nice.
OK, look around, enjoy, and talk to us!

Carol Ginandes, PhD ...
The Allergy Kit combines Carol Ginandes’ state-of-the-art hypnosis with some dynamite aromatherapy resources. Relieve Allergy, Reduce Reactivity provides three, sequenced, self-hypnotic sessions of ten new allergy-containing exercises by our own Harvard health psychologist and mind-body researcher, Carol Ginandes PhD. Geared to diminish symptoms such as congestion, rashes or digestive distress; lessen reactivity to allergens; soothe inflammation; cultivate core equilibrium and build immune stress-hardiness, it teaches crucial self-care skills to anyone with new or chronic allergies, mild to severe.
Add to that an incredible Sinus Therapy Pillow, created by an amazing triple-threat nurse, massage therapist and aromatherapy mavin, Karen Kowal RN, LMT (I was lucky enough to meet her and check out her stuff at a NICABM conference 2 years ago) and her BREATHE roll-on essential oils for Sinus Therapy, and we have a kit that offers immediate and longterm relief, both.

Anti-Panic Pack
by
Belleruth Naparstek ...
The Anti-Panic Pack consists of our new Help with Panic Attacks CD; a terrific new Ericksonian hypnosis CD from that master of the craft, David Illig called Calm and Relaxed; and Jim Porter's exquisitely calming, gorgeous to look at DVD, Rest & Relax. We think this combination of resources can put a serious dent into the symptoms of this very unpleasant, quality-of-life-killing condition, and fairly quickly at that.

Caregiver Stress
by
Belleruth Naparstek
I wrote this imagery to remind the caregiver - whether this be a family member or a professional provider - of their own strength, goodness, tenacity and resourcefulness. The imagery affirms the generational values being carried forward. It notes the invisible forces of love and support surrounding the listener. And it underlines the need for self-care, self-consideration. It is of course also designed to provide relaxation and balance; sustain motivation; reduce isolation; acknowledge the difficulties without sugar-coating them; help release any accrued resentment; and restore hope for the future. With affirmations. 45 Min.

Naturescapes
by
Jeffrey Thompson
This is an intriguingly unique relaxation DVD, consisting of high definition video of time-lapse nature scenes of sky and clouds, accompanied by well-produced, super-clear musical accompaniment and nature sounds, plus Thompson’s technological specialty - alpha brainwave pulses - to amplify the relaxing effect. Although people who like closing their eyes for quiet meditation might find this to be a bit of sensory overload, it’s a wonderful alternative for those who don’t respond to audio. It comes with a booklet of relaxation tips. (65 min)
